There are two parallel standards being developed. The first standard is EN/ISO 18541 "Road vehicles - Standardized access to automotive repair and maintenance information (RMI)" and covers use cases for accessing the RMI and the technical requirements for this. The second standard EN/ISO 18542 "Road vehicles - Standardized repair and maintenance information (RMI) terminology covers requirements for a terminology management system that will be used to manage the agreed terminology for searching of the RMI systems and the process by which agreed terminology is created.
